About the game
Do you remember playing Minesweeper years ago? Well, you’re almost ready to start playing this new brain game! Here’s a new version of the timeless game to keep you entertained while you strengthen and stimulate your mind.
The main goal of Treasure Island is to find all the treasures hidden on the map before you run out of water. But watch out, because if you make a mistake and instead of digging up a treasure, you dig up a bomb… your shovel could break and you could run out of water in your canteen!
How to play Treasure Island
Throughout the game you will travel to different treasure islands. On each island you will need to dig up a certain amount of treasures, but you have a limited number of shovels – and be careful with your time, because you will need to complete the level before your canteen is empty!
Each location on the island (marked with an “X”) will give you the information you need to dig up the treasures, i.e. how many bombs or treasures there are in adjacent locations.
If you dig up a treasure it will help you to continue completing the level and get water, but if you dig up a bomb it will break your shovel and you will have less water left in your canteen, i.e. less time.
What cognitive skills will you train?
In Treasure Island you will train the following skills:
- Focused Attention: in Treasure Island, staying focused is crucial to avoid bombs and correctly dig up all the treasures. This skill is as important in the game as it is in everyday life to perform tasks better. It can help you, for example, when studying for exams or when completing work tasks by avoiding distractions and concentrating on what is important.
- Short-Term Memory: The game is useful for strengthening short-term memory. This skill is necessary, for example, for remembering important details, following instructions, or remembering the most important information in everyday life. For example, when someone says a phone number, your short-term memory is working from the time you hear it to when you write it down.
- Updating: is key to avoid mistakes and improve your strategies. This skill will help you to review and correct your work in a better way or to be more efficient in the most difficult tasks without missing or forgetting your main goals and objectives.
- Spatial Perception: this skill is crucial in the game when it comes to observing the map, avoiding bombs and planning your strategies to dig up treasures. Spatial perception is very important in day-to-day life and can be seen in activities such as driving or organising your room.
- Planning: strategic planning is one of the most essential skills in the game and is useful, for example, for digging up treasures without activating bombs or breaking shovels. Planning is vital to anyone’s routine, such as organizing your days or managing your time better.
